Now that's a pizza!

And this is Pete, Pizza Hut's trademark mascot from the 1960's. Here, he's rubbing his tummy and smiling -- no doubt after eating a double-cheese pie with pepperoni and mushrooms!

Pete helped his company's founders, Dan and Frank Carney, to build Pizza Hut into the largest restaurant chain in the world by 1971. He doesn't show up in the advertising anymore -- real-life celebrity endorsements have taken over the spotlight -- but Pete is still in the kitchen . . . and still smiling.
